Getting the balance between waterproof, breathable and durable is crucial. Barricade™ is a unique dynamic technology that offers total protection by responding to the humidity within the boot and adapting to changing conditions.
Basically, the sweatier and steamier things get inside, the better the membrane works and the more vapour escapes.

Microscopic concentrations of silver have been permanently embedded into our liners. This dramatically reduces the growth of odour and mould causing bacteria. Quite simply, at the end of the day, your boots and your feet smell much sweeter.
All of the footwear in our range uses Anti Odour Silver technology.
The key to comfort is the last. Two separate lasts have been designed specifically for the British foot. The Control Last™ and the Comfort Last™.
The last dictates the shape and fit of the shoe during the manufacturing process. The lasts are also gender specific, and the women’s last has a narrower heel and less volume in the shoe overall.
The Control Last™ is for tough hillwalking and trekking, minimising rolling and rubbing and maximising precision and protection.
The Comfort Last™ is designed for big mileage comfort or even ground. It is fractionally wider, allowing the foot space to relax.
Insole boards are the flex component that gives the boot its rigidity. They are made from specialist nylon, fibreglass or a mix of the two, and they vary in thickness depending on the stiffness required. The insole boards have built in memory characteristics meaning that they will always return to shape however many times the board flexes.
Our footwear is made using either EVA construction (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) or PU construction (Polyurethane).
The EVA construction is where the light flexible foam rubber is injected with oxygen to promote a shock absorbing midsole.
The PU construction is where the polyurethane is poured into a mould to create a firm durable midsole that provides maximum protection from impact.
