Men's Off Piste Skiing

When you ski off piste, you leave the crowds and queues behind and enter a world of peace, pristine snow and views untarnished by the installations of the ski industry. But you also leave behind the ski patrols and enter an area where, should you get into trouble, rescue becomes difficult and time-consuming. The self-sufficient mindset of the alpinist becomes essential.

And that starts with your gear. Your clothing system needs to be flexible. You’ll probably be getting pretty hot trekking or skinning up hill but, at the same time, should you get lost or one of your party becomes injured or incapacitated, you’ll need to carry sufficient clothing to keep yourself warm and safe for many hours. Your clothing system will certainly have more in common with the winter mountaineer than with the recreational piste skier.
