Weighing in at less than 1oz, our Trento sunglasses are a highly technical choice which is plenty smart enough to wear around town - but sufficiently durable to take the knocks and scrapes of life way off the beaten track.

For the adventurous traveller, they are a perfect choice.

They’re handmade from a premium metal alloy specifically selected for its strength, rigidity and lightness. Naturally, they are nickel free.

The frame features substantial metal flex hinges on the arms. These may be tightened with a screw and provide a flexible fit and a certain amount of ‘give’ to reduce any feeling of tightness or pressure during periods of extended wear.

The contact point where the frame meets the nose is cushioned with a soft silicone bridge that wraps over the nose. This spreads the load far more effectively than the traditional twin pads and leads to improved comfort during periods of extended wear. It offers a superb grip which works well, even when wet from sweat or suncream.

The lenses, built from an extremely durable polycarbonate, offer total, 100% protection from UV light, reducing short-term eye strain and long-term damage to the eyes. Needless to say, they meet all EU and US standards.

In terms of light transmittance, the lenses are classed as Category 3. Essentially, they’re a dark lens suitable for all day use in bright sun - but still suitable (and legal) for driving.

The visual definition through the lens is of the highest quality - described as Optical Class 1. Basically, they offer improved vision on hazy days. They’re also distortion free. It’s worth remembering that distortion through poorer quality lenses is not immediately noticeable but, over time, will cause eye strain, tiredness and even headaches.

The lenses have been designed to offer ballistics impact protection - very reassuring to have if you’re driving through the desert in an open-topped vehicle.

All the lenses in the Rohan Optics range are oleophobic. Our oil resistant coating cannot eliminate smudging from suncreams or handling - but it does make the lens much easier to clean.

They are also hydrophobic. This is obviously of most benefit to water sports enthusiasts - but it’s also handy for cyclists.

Also standard on the Rohan Optics range is an anti-reflective coating - visible as a rainbow-tinted hue on the back of the lenses. This reduces scattered light, further improves visual clarity and helps the eyes to adjust more quickly from bright light to low light conditions.

The lenses of the Trento glasses have a graduated tint which darkens progressively towards the top. Designed for aviators who need to look up and out into bright light whilst monitoring darker dials below, this feature is also extremely popular and useful for motorists.

The Trento sunglasses come complete with a good quality hard case, closed with YKK zips, which offers protection and impact resistance. Inside the case, you’ll find a micro-fibre cleaning cloth to keep your lenses in tip-top condition.
