Offering cool comfort and relaxed good looks, our highly functional Pacific Shirt is the perfect choice for the hottest and most humid conditions.
The secret is the fabric: it’s a silk-weight blend of two sophisticated modern synthetics – polyester and polyamide.
It feels great as soon as you put it on. There’s a natural ‘coolness’ to the fabric which is immediately noticeable – even in everyday conditions. But it’s not until you really test the Pacific Shirt in its natural home – the Tropics – that you realise what a remarkable piece of engineering it is. Put simply, the hotter it gets, the better it feels.
It wicks moisture instantly and dries so quickly, you’ll never notice it’s wet. It’s been treated with our highly effective Dynamic Moisture Control™ finish which lasts for the lifetime of the garment – so you can be confident that this level of performance is no flash in the pan. The fabric also provides a good level of protection from the harmful effects of UV radiation.
The fabric incorporates an advanced silver technology which inhibits the growth of bacteria and greatly reduces odour – not essential if you’re wearing the shirt at home but very useful indeed if you’re on a long trip with limited washing facilities.
It’s simple to wash, in the machine or in a stream, and will comfortably dry overnight – even in the most humid conditions.
For its weight, the Pacific Shirt is remarkably robust, offering reassuring levels of both abrasion and tear resistance.
Features include two spacious chest pockets which include zip closures for added security and roll-up sleeve adjusters.
The rear yoke is pleated for comfort and freedom of movement and is built using our Minimum Layer Construction™ principles to make the whole shirt lighter, less bulky, faster drying and more breathable.
We’ve included clever Dryloops™ at the hem which mean you can hang the shirt out to dry without the need to pack clothes pegs on your travels.
A neat feature is a small microfibre panel on the inside of the hem. It’s designed for cleaning expensive sunglasses without the risk of scratching them. Not essential, obviously, but quite a handy thing to have.
