Canopy Cape Short
Technical waterproof cape.
Offering far greater protection than an umbrella (although with a little less airflow!) and greater versatility than a regular jacket, our waterproof Canopy Cape is an incredibly useful item for the traveller or outdoor enthusiast.
Naturally, it’s not perfect for everything but in certain situations – think tropical rainforests and summer festivals in Britain – a cape is the ideal way to keep dry. It’s also a good way to offer some protection for delicate equipment – which is why they’re so popular with outdoor photographers and nature watchers. It’s easy to keep your electronic gear covered up when you’re not actually using it.
And, if you’re looking for a cape, you’ll have to go a long way to find a more functional choice.
It’s made from a high-quality 62 g/m polyamide – normally seen on the most technical mountain tents - which has been saturated with waterproof silicone to provide a durable and total barrier to water. Water simply bounces off the surface.
Our Canopy Cape features an adjustable hood with a foam peak and snap side and arm closures. The design features an extended sleeve section for full arm cover – without the use of excessive fabric.
The cape is cut extra long at the back – which means it can be worn over a rucksack. Simple really – but quite a rare feature.
Cord loops at the hem mean that it’s possible to peg out the corners to create a bivvy shelter or groundsheet.
The zipped chest pocket forms a Packpocket™ into which the whole cape packs when not in use.

Barricade™ Washing Instructions
Rohan Barricade™ waterproofs are easy to care for. Simply machine wash them at 40°C with a regular detergent. We recommend a second rinse to remove all traces of the detergent from the fabric. Don’t use fabric softeners or bleaching agents. Garments may be drip dried. Over time, the water repellent treatment on the surface of the fabric may become less effective and water will stop beading up on the outside of the jacket. Tumble drying on a warm, not hot, setting or careful ironing on the coolest setting will rejuvenate the finish.
