The humble fleece jacket?

From a distance, our Microrib Stowaway Jacket looks like a regular functional, performance fleece jacket. But take a closer look and a slightly different picture emerges.

It’s made from our advanced Microrib fleece which takes advantage of sophisticated ‘needle-out’ knitting techniques to create a rib pattern on the surface of the fabric. These ribs give the jacket quite an attractive textured appearance but they also bring with them a host of technical advantages.

They make the whole jacket lighter. They also make it considerably more breathable, much quicker drying and far more packable. All for the same warmth as a much heavier ‘ordinary’ fleece.

The construction also gives the jacket a certain amount of natural stretch which offers unrestricted freedom of movement and a comfortable, easy fit.

The cuffs feature comfortable thumb loops which are designed to keep the sleeves exactly where they should be. Particularly handy for active use – but useful all the time, when you think about it.

The jacket features two zipped hand pockets and a large internal Packpocket™ into which the whole fleece can be stuffed for convenient packing.

The Microrib Stowaway Jacket has been designed primarily as a mid-layer for trekking and walking. It’s designed to fit over base layers and underneath a waterproof shell. Needless to say, it’s also pretty handy for casual use. Worn over a top, it’s perfect for bobbing round town.
