At Rohan we’ve been proud members of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) since 2015. With over 150 members all from the outdoor industry, EOCA puts 100% of its membership fees into conversation projects all around the world, conserving the landscapes we love.
The EOCA team, supported by a panel of scientific advisers, have spent the last few months carefully assessing all applications and have created a shortlist of exceptional projects, all of which they would be happy to fund.
Following the success of EOCA’s two-year focus Plastic Free: Mountain to Sea, which saw, amongst other actions, over 4000km of habitat cleared of plastic pollution, the association is now launching its next two year focus Wild for Nature: EOCA’s Landscape Legacy.
With this funding round, the focus will see projects funded that address the double threats of biodiversity loss and the climate emergency, in various wild landscapes around the world.
For the public vote, projects have been divided into three categories: ‘Forest’, ‘Water’ and ‘Wild Places’, depending on the habitats that the projects will be working in. Everyone is invited to select their favourite project in each category.
The project with the most votes in each category will receive the funding they have requested from EOCA.
Any project can be voted for, but our favourites include, Restoring Hardknott forest, in the UK, Portofino Seaweed Garden, in Italy and Reforest the Slopes of Mount Kenya, in Kenya.

EOCA voting is now open and will close at midday on the 9th April.
