With the cold mornings behind us and as we look forward to warmer days ahead, now is the perfect time to look for those must-have items, ready for whatever you have in mind for this spring.
To help inspire you, we have asked our wider Rohan family to share with us their top picks from this season’s range.
We start with the team at our Bath store who share their Top Picks.
Emma who is the manager at the Bath store has been with Rohan for 8 years and shares with us her top pick from this spring/summer season, being an avid film buff, gardener and walker, so if you’re looking for advice on what trouser you should be popping into your wardrobe, look no further for advice.
“It has to be the Pioneer Convertibles – they’re a great all-rounder. A fantastic walking trouser with added sun protection and when warm enough they convert into a pair of capris. Not only great as a walking trouser but versatile enough to be used for gardening as there are 5 pockets for keys, a phone and small tools and if friends pop round for an evening patio chat, any insects are kept away with the insect shield, so for me, this is a must-have, a true all-rounder”
Sue who is the Deputy Manager has been a long-standing member of the Bath team, having served almost 5 years and is keen to highlight her top pick, the Women’s Stretch Bag Convertible.
“The Women’s Stretch Bag Convertible is made from a multiflex fabric, which gives freedom of movement and durability, making them ideal for both trekking and city breaks. They have the bonus of unzipping above the knee, so two garments in one, which is a bonus. They easily re-attachable with coloured grosgrain tabs, and if the sun does shine you also have a UPF 40+, great for coping with the great British weather.”
Dwayne who is the sales assistant and a relatively new member of the team shares with us his top pick has to be the Equator Shirt long sleeve.
“I see the Equator Shirt as the shirt for adventure both home and away, whether it’s to a tropical island (when we're allowed to travel) or a sunny pub garden. For me the versatility of having a look that is both smart and casual is great”
Staying south we pop over to our store in Henley-on-Thames, voted as one of the most beautiful towns in England, to catch up with our deputy manager Betti who has been with the store for over 4 years and is an avid traveller and book worm. A passion she got to indulge in over the past year.
With summer and travel very much in mind, Betti’s top pick is the Malay Shirt.
“It’s difficult to find a shirt that can be both smart and casual at the same time. The Malay Shirt is so versatile, I can wear it whatever the occasion. As it’s so easy to take care of thanks to the Performance Linen which resists creasing. Whenever I go away, I always make sure this is on the packing list. I love the range of colours it comes in this year. The Chambray Blue one is so easy to match with almost everything. I have to confess that I have never been a big fan of linen, but this shirt completely made me change my mind and has become a firm favourite!”
As we head up the M1 to Milton Keynes, famous not only for its roundabouts but concrete cows, we ask Barbara at our MK store to share with us, her must-have item this season
“For me, it has to be without doubt the Global T Tops, as they are so comfortable, and have the anti-odour silver technology which is absolutely amazing and keeps me feeling fresh all day. Plus, you have the added benefit that they look smart with advanced jeans or a casual outfit paired with my navy roamers. I would strongly recommend them!!!!”
Birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury is set amidst the beautiful Shropshire countryside near to the Welsh Borders and is one of England’s finest medieval market towns.
So, whether you are lucky enough to live in Shrewsbury, why not pop into our store and say hello James are our deputy manager who has been with the Rohan for over 4 years and makes a mean banana bread, something he perfected during the lockdown.
James favourite pick this season is the Momentum Jacket
“The Momentum Jacket in Lakeside Blue is such a vibrant colour and I love it; it will attract attention on the hills. It’s lightweight only weighing 275g, which means it can be easily be packed away into its own internal Packpocket.
However, its most impressive feature is that it's fully waterproof, breathable and features the 20:20 Barricade standard. The jacket also comes with an aquaguard waterproof zip and means it’s the sort of waterproof that you can always stick in your rucksack - ‘just-in-case, perfect for both short and long adventures.”
Beverley, Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets. Renowned for its exquisite 13th Century Minster, and a lively market town we catch-up with sales assistant Ann who has been with the team for over 10 years and is a keen walker and traveller, so knows a thing or two about what is essential kit whilst travelling, whether it be near or far.
“My top pick from this season has to be the staple stretch Microgrid Zip Neck Top. I have always brought microgrids from when I first started with Rohan and for me, this is a staple in my wardrobe and something which you can use all year round. The feature I love personally is the sleeve cuffs which have the thumbholes, which provide additional warmth, comfort and protection from the element.”
We hope that we have inspired you, as these are only a small selection of the top picks from our wider Rohan family. So, plenty more to discover instore.
