The synthetic wax finish has the character of traditional waxed fabrics, but not the sticky hand feel often associated with them.

There are four metal eyelets at the crown for greater air circulation. A secret pocket inside, sealed with Velcro. The fabric repels rain. It’ll float if it falls into water. And, a fabric tie helps to keep it in place if the wind picks up.

• Washing info: Machine wash delicate or hand wash. Air dry. Do not bleach. Wash it frequently or non-removable sweat stains will mar it and possibly rot it. To rejuvenate the wax finish, tumble dry it on low for a few minutes.
