The Full Story+

The Merino Cool T is full of understated style with technical, high-spec features that make it a versatile, wear any-time T.

Polyamide is a tough synthetic fibre that adds durability, recovery and easycare functionality to the Merino Cool T. It also makes it much easier and quicker to wash and dry, and ensures it keeps its shape after continued wear and washing.

Merino wool gives this polo its impressive performance benefits – it’s naturally antimicrobial, temperature regulating, high-wicking and soft, making the Merino Cool T a fantastic choice for warmer climates. The antimicrobial properties will keep you feeling fresh and reduce the build-up of odour and mould, whilst the temperature regulation and moisture management will keep you feeling dry, cool and comfortable even after a long day in the heat.

The addition of lyocell to the blend enhances the properties of polyamide and merino wool. It’s sustainably made from wood pulp and was originally created as an alternative to silk, so it’s incredibly soft against the skin. It’s also naturally high-wicking and breathable, like merino wool, and has excellent durability and recovery, like polyamide.

We’ve given the Merino Cool T a classic crew neck design and have made sure it’s as low-profile and light weight as possible, making it more comfortable to wear and more convenient for travel.

Fabric: 52% merino wool, 35% lyocell, 13% polyamide

Lightweight - Weight: 140g
Lightweight - Weight: 140g

We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.

Packable - Pack Size: 350ml
Packable - Pack Size: 350ml

Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.

Fast Drying - Drying Time: 4 hours
Fast Drying - Drying Time: 4 hours

All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.

nice shirt.

I love how it feels, nice, and soft. Hate having to be concerned about it pilling but I guess that's how it is with some shirts. Very packable. A little pricey but in looking around REI at competitive shirts it's competitively priced. My wife doesn't like the pastel-effect but I do like it in the light blue.

Merino men’s cool T shirt

I discovered these T shirts a while back and have 8 now. They are light, super comfortable and really quick drying. (I wore one every day on a week long Camino, washing it every other day)

I’ve seen some complaints about them creasing, and it’s only the white ones that are guilty, the others do not.

The only T shirt you’ll every want to wear.

Good, but …………

An excellent product but not in the same league as the (disappointingly ) discontinued merino 200 T. That was was a superb quality product with more substance to it than the 150 weight. I cannot understand your continued drive to change what is arguably a perfect product. Please bring back the 200 T. (Amongst other things Eg consignment shorts, upland trekkers etc)

Comfortable - but!

Comfortable top and looks good until you wear it - unless you go for the 'I slept in this' look. After one trip out with a pack, worn as a single layer, I suspect that the T-shirt will not last that long with the rubbing on the shoulders and back.

Thank you for your review. Surprised and sorry to hear your comments regarding the look of the T Shirt. This style is made with polyamide which adds durability to the fabric and will help to keep the shape intact after continued wear and washing. Our Merino Cool T has gone through extensive wear testing in different climates and environments to ensure it performs to the best of its ability.

Good technical that looks good

I am a great fan of Rohan's merino gear but I wanted a light coloured top. Think HF holiday: you are tramping around in wind and weather during the day and then you want to look tidy in the evening with a glimpse of top through your open neck smart-casual shirt (Rohan also does these). The recent (winter 2020-21) sale gave me the chance to re-equip and I now have 6 to bargain price. XXL had already sold out but I found XL big enough for my needs. At sale price I can certainly rate these as good value.

Excellent Merino Tee Shirt

Was surprised to read the other review for this tee shirt as I love mine! It is soft and light yet warming when it cools down a bit. It can be worn quite a few times before it needs a wash due to the natural odour control in the merino wool. I am about to wash mine for the 1st time - will do it by hand as Merino can be quite delicate and I won't risk the washing machine! The fit is great - medium is generous and it is a perfect fit for me (5' 11" 87kgs)

Totally recommend this shirt.
