Read more…Enjoy the thermal benefits of the Merino Union 150 Crew when it’s cold, but remain comfortable all day no matter how active and hot you get.
Merino wool is a fantastic fibre that is naturally temperature regulating and high wicking so even if you start to work up a sweat you’ll still feel dry and comfortable, but in very cold conditions it will keep you warm – a great benefit for those with an active lifestyle.
Merino wool is also really soft to the touch and blending it with polyester gives the wool a helping hand in keeping its effectiveness and softness for longer, making this crew not only comfortable but supremely durable.
The Merino Union 150 Crew has been designed with low bulk seams to reduce chafing and irritation, but also to reduce weight, resulting in an effective crew that weighs just 175g and has a really small pack size and quick dry time.
A must have for those with an active lifestyle, the Merino Union 150 Crew is an essential layering piece that is sure to keep you comfortable when you’re working your hardest.

We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.
Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.
Merino Union blends merino wool, nature’s finest technical material, with advanced synthetics to create a best of both world’s fabric. It’s antimicrobial, odour-inhibiting, temperature regulating, high-wicking and breathable. It’s also easy to wash – by hand or in the machine. The addition of polyester to the blend increases durability and reduces drying times.

I've got quite a few Rohan pieces including base layers and this is very good except for one thing - the arms are ridiculously long! I thought inshore it was because of the Raglan style but at home they are too long. In fact you can even see it on the photo of the model. I think I will live with it but its rather weird.
After reading the other 2 reviews I decided to treat myself, to be used as a base layer. I’m now hooked. I don’t use it for working out, running etc, those days have gone! I use it under a shirt or fleece, and I wish I’d have bought one long ago. It’s so soft, thin and unobtrusive, but the regulated heat it gives you is lovely in the cooler weather. I treated myself to the Henley top too. As good, and looks good on its own over jeans, as this one does. Only thing I’d say is the Henley seems slightly shorter in arm length.
My wardrobe is full of Rohan, but can honestly say this layer makes all the difference for warmth, especially in the arms.
This is my second merino base layer bought from Rohan the first was the Henley type, as this was out of stock and I’m converted to the properties of Merino as although it says base-layer I often wear it with jeans as a smart relaxed appearance. I will buy more as the beauty of these tops is you can wear them for prolonged periods without fear of body odour, their a great base layer or stand alone, they even stand up to heavy exercise like running with profuse sweat, hung out on the line to dry and are good to repeat they really do live up to the claims made about the fibre. My only hope is that Rohan do not stop selling this type of merino top.
This was the 1st garment I ever bought in merino wool. I had read all the blurb about the fantastic properties of merino wool; it's sustainable, fast-drying, temperature regulating, cool when you're warm, warm whem you're cold, doesn't smell when sweated in and worn for days on end.
Well, it's all true! The hype isn't hype at all, it's fact!
I now own about 8 merino wool garments from tee shirts to warm sweaters and love every one of them for all the above reasons.
Yes, it is more expensive than cotton or acrylic or any other man-made fibre, but in my opinion is well worth every penny!
If you own nothing merino, treat yourself to the true luxury of the best ever natural fibre and you will wonder why you waited so long!
