The Full Story+

Weighing less than 400g – that’s less than a football – this extremely lightweight, packable insulated jacket, with Packpocket™ technology is a travellers dream. Pack it away small in your backpack and ready to take out when the weather calls for it.

Using Insuloft™ wadding, a Durable Water Repellency™ finish, high collar and hand pockets both lined with micro fleece, and an adjustable hem and storm cuffs to lock in warmth, the Icepack Jacket has everything you need to give reassuring protection from the wind, rain and cold.

Its hard-wearing polyamide exterior treated with a Durable Water Repellency™ finish offers an excellent level of durability, wind protection and water-resistance, whilst the Insuloft™ polyester wadding provides impressive warmth that performs well in wet conditions.

Wear over the top of a jumper in mild conditions or under a waterproof in more challenging conditions for an alternative yet effective layering  piece that can comfortably take you from autumn right through to spring.

With its impressive low weight and with an internal security pocket that doubles as a Packpocket™, it’s a perfect choice to leave in your backpack and forget about until you need it. Its low weight also means that it’s incredibly easy to care for and has a very quick dry time.

Always be prepared for whichever way the wind blows with the Icepack Jacket – a versatile, water and wind resistant insulating piece that packs away to a convenient portable size ready for your cold weather adventures.

Lightweight - Weight: 380g
Lightweight - Weight: 380g

We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.

Packable - Pack Size: 1520ml
Packable - Pack Size: 1520ml

Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.

Fast Drying - Drying Time: 4 hours
Fast Drying - Drying Time: 4 hours

All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.

INSULOFT™

Insuloft™ is an advanced synthetic wadding that offers a better warmth-to-weight ratio than polyester fleece and better performance when wet than conventional down. It’s durable, compressible, lightweight, easy to wash and fast drying – it’s the perfect choice for cold-weather protection.

DURABLE WATER REPELLENCY™

Our DWR ™ finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade™ technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

Packpocket™

Clever design is more often than not about what to take off rather than what to put on. It’s about giving one feature multiple functions. That’s why many of our garments feature a Packpocket™. This handy addition converts pockets into space-saving storage by compressing the garment into itself. You could use it as a travel pillow when it’s all packed down too.

4 Secure Pockets

Losing the odd bit or bob when you’re close to home is rarely an issue, but losing car hire keys, passport, phone or wallet becomes more important than ever in a far off land. That’s why lots of thought goes into safer pockets – deeper, zipped and hidden.

Men's Icepack Jacket

★★★☆☆

I really like this jacket but I think the five star reviews should be tempered a bit.

Firstly the price I paid, £75, I think is value for money, the RRP of £150 is way too much in my opinion.

Secondly I've worn mine whilst carrying a rucksack which has resulted in the insulation material coming through the stitching so it's looking a bit scruffy now after only occasional wear.

Thirdly I found it doesn't 'breath' that well when your exerting yourself.

On the plus side it is very lightweight and comfortable and ideal for day to day wear but in my view not hill walking.

Sorry to hear you have been disappointed. A member of our Customer Services team will be in touch with you shortly.

My Icepack Jacket #4

★★★★★

Just taken receipt of my new Deep Navy Icepack Jacket. This is number 4 so I guess I like them. This is version 3 of the design and my preference is version 1; why? Version 1 had adjustable cuffs rather than the current elastic version which are called "storm cuffs" which sit right on top of my watch which I dislike. Version1 had the Rohan logo stitched in on the chest. Version 1 could also be zipped into my Hilltop raincoat as part of the layering system which I found useful at times when wearing them to football. Version 2 had storm cuffs and the bright Rohan logo stamped on the lower left which looks cheap and cannot be zipped into an outer layer. Version 3 has the storm cuffs and a more subtle Rohan logo on the left chest. Also on version 3 the chest pocket is on the left chest on the outside, rather than inside as on versions 1 and 2, which I prefer. The jackets have worn extremely well and are so light and warm. I certainly would never leave them in a backpack to forget about until I needed it! They are too good for that! Great jacket and at 50% off the initial price buying #4 was a no brainer.

Fantastic jacket

★★★★★

I'm wearing this all the time now. It's so lightweight and warm. Its also great as an extra layer under a coat because its not bulky. It holds off showers and is great because of its wind resistance. A great buy.

Indispensable item

★★★★★

My Icepack jacket is the older version without the chest pocket, but otherwise it's the same. As soon as summer is over out it comes and I wear it whenever the weather is cool and/or windy. It's so light I hardly know I have it on. I have many Rohan items and this is the one I find indispensable. I bought it in a sale so it has proved great value for money..
