With hard-wearing durability, Anti Odour Silver Technology and a Dynamic Moisture Control™ finish, the Equator Shirt is a great casual choice for hot-weather travel and everyday wear.

Anti Odour Silver Technology takes advantage of the natural antimicrobial benefits of silver. Tiny traces of silver are distributed evenly throughout the Equator Shirt to inhibit the growth of microbes reducing mould and odour. This reduces the need to wash the shirt as frequently, extending the life of the product, and keeping you feeling and smelling fresher for longer.
This permanent solution doesn’t wash or wear out and has even been tested by the International Antimicrobial Council to provide 99.5% of antimicrobial properties, even after 50 washes.
The Dynamic Moisture Control™ finish helps to wick moisture away from the body to the surface area of the shirt so it can be evaporated more quickly, keeping you feeling cool and sweat-free even if the temperature or your activity levels start to rise.
The cotton-like feel of the Equator Shirt makes it really comfortable to wear, yet its technical fabric construction makes it very durable, lightweight and easy to care for.
The Equator Shirt has a popper opening and two secure zipped chest pockets – ideal for credit or debit cards and passport. We’ve also included DryLoops™ inside the hem that makes it easier to hang up and dry.
Fabric:
56% polyamide, 44% polyester with Dynamic Moisture Control™ and Silvadur™ odour control technology
We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.
Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.
Garments treated with our Anti Odour Silver technology benefit from the natural antimicrobial properties of silver. Tiny traces of silver, distributed evenly throughout the garment, inhibit the growth of bacteria reducing mould and odour. This treatment is permanent – it will never wash or wear out.
DMC™ is a wicking treatment that rapidly spreads the moisture our bodies create across the surface area of a garment. This can be achieved through the technical construction of the garment or by a performance coating and ensures that the garment dries more quickly, encourages evaporative heat loss and helps you stay cooler and more comfortable for longer.
Losing the odd bit or bob when you’re close to home is rarely an issue, but losing car hire keys, passport, phone or wallet becomes more important than ever in a far off land. That’s why lots of thought goes into safer pockets – deeper, zipped and hidden.

I like the fabric, fit and feel, but a popper has just popped and I can no longer wear it. A complete waste of money. Bring back buttons!!
I had one of these bought as. B/day present, I wasn't totally convinced by the poppers instead of buttons but actually quite like them now.
Lovely material, soft and cool in the hot weather, two very handy pockets, so impressed I bought another one.
I like the Equator shirts and have several long sleeve versions. I even quite like the poppers, as long as they last. What I don't like is that on the short sleeve version that I have Rohan has included the tie back sleeve retainer. This is a nuisance and even hangs down below the short sleeve length. It makes me think that they have just used the long sleeved version and cut the sleeves off! This has to be a stupid design or is it a genuine mistake? Please get it sorted. I would have given 5 stars but for this.
I now have three of these shirts, one longsleeved XXL to be used in colder weather over T-shirts and two XL short-sleeved ones. Superb material and I love the big pockets, wallet in one phone in the other. The only things that spoils them for me is the press studs which easily pop undone, annoying, buttons would be better.
I was very pleased to receive my two Equator shirts for the summer. I love the fact that they have poppers and not buttons as this makes it much easier to put on and take off the shirts. The poppers, on my previous shirts, have been 100% reliable and I wish all shirts had these. My slight disappointment, with my two new shirts, is that they are a lot darker than they appear in the pictures online. I know the colour is described as 'Titanium' but I thought they would be nearer white than grey. I was hoping for some lighter coloured shirts for Summer.
I bought this shirt to use on an archaeological excavation in Sicily; working outdoors in high temperatures and with little shade. I hammered the shirt. It got filthy each day and I washed and dried it overnight - fresh, smart and ready to go. It coped brilliantly and was cool and comfortable. My only criticism is that being tall, I had to make sure I put sun cream on the small of my back as the shirt didn’t quite cover me. Great shirt for travelling.
The big plus for me of this shirt was the pop it buttons.
I must admit that that I was a bit hesitant in buying it at first. But now I think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Just ordered another two shirts
I was thinking of buying a couple of these for the Summer but after talking to a friend I don't think I will bother. The big negative is the use of poppers rather than buttons. Ugh!
I have just spent a fortnight in North Africa and the latest equator shirt provides great sun protection. As always they deal with persperation well, dispersing it and drying relatively whiff free.
They wash and dry overnight and are ready for wear the next day. Alternating 2 shirts saw me through the trip. They are casually smart enough for most places.
The concealed glasses wipe is great when wearing sunglasses
My only criticism after owning 5-6 over the years......which idiot thought bright candy pink was a good colour for the studs on the true red check??
