The Vertex Jacket is perfect for trekking and hiking in some of the wildest, wettest places on earth. Using our tried and tested 3-layer Barricade™ technology and with impressive attention to detail, it provides ultimate protection from the wind and rain.

Utilising our 3-layer Barricade™ system and with a tough polyamide exterior treated with a Durable Water Repellency™ finish, the Vertex Jacket is a tough, hard-wearing jacket that performs excellently in wet and windy conditions.

The addition of the YKK Aquaquard® zips throughout enhances the water-resistance thanks to the top quality polyurethane coating that ensures almost total waterproof protection. There are also fully taped seams as standard and a dropped, adjustable rear hem to offer improved coverage. The cuffs are shaped and adjustable to fine-tune the fit and ensure complete protection.

The three piece hood and snorkel collar is what really makes a difference in a downpour. The collar and zip have been ergonomically designed to curve to the natural shape of the neck and lower half of the face, so when zipped up fully it comes up to your nose without causing any discomfort.  The hood’s also fully adjustable for a perfect fit around the face, and there’s an addition of a rain gutter which cleverly directs water away from the face to offer truly fantastic protection from the rain.

The ergonomically shaped panels and natural stretch of the exterior fabric make it a great choice for active mountain use, and thanks to the breathability of the material, you can stay dry and comfortable no matter how active you get.

There are several well positioned pockets to suit a variety of items, including two front hand pockets that are bellowed to offer expanded storage space to fit an OS map, a mesh internal pocket that’s great for storing gloves and an internal zipped security pocket made for stashing valuables.

Weighing just 515g the Vertex Jacket is very lightweight and has a great pack size making it a convenient choice for your next trekking trip. It’s also easy to care for – pop it in the washing machine or wash it by hand and it will be dry and ready to go again by morning.

Washing Instructions
Caring for your Rohan Barricade™ waterproof will improve its performance and longevity. Simply machine wash your item at 30C with a gentle non-biological, liquid detergent. We recommend a second rinse to remove all traces of detergent from the fabric. Don’t use fabric conditioners, dryer sheets, stain removers or bleaching agents as these can impair the fabric performance. Garments may be drip dried. To rejuvenate the finish tumble dry your waterproof on the coolest setting, ensuring it is fully dry to complete the process.

Your Barricade™ waterproof has a Durable Water Repellency finish on the surface of the fabric. Over time, with wear and exposure to the environment, this can degrade, stopping water beading up on the surface of the jacket. Cleaning your waterproof will help maintain the finish. If necessary a re-proofing product may be used to restore the DWR. This can be used in your wash cycle and is activated by a cool tumble dry.
