The Full Story+

The Clifden Beanie is reversible and made from a Merino wool blend, it is tightly woven to keep as much warmth in as possible. Merino does a great job of trapping still air making it a fantastic insulator and provides a great buffer against cold winter days. Merino wool fibres are more flexible and softly bend when they are pressed against the skin, giving merino that sought after soft and warm to touch feel.

Merino wool is naturally antimicrobial and temperature regulating, its recognised as an all-seasons fibre whilst it works to keep you warm in the winter, when you’re powering up those hills or in the warmer weather it has the ability to wick away moisture from your skin and evaporates the moisture, cooling the air between your skin and the fabric.

We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.
