Designed to keep you warm in the cold months of the year. A functional and essential winter jacket that can also be layered under a shell as a mid-layer for extra warmth - perfect for the hills and dales.
Read more…The Frostpoint Jacket is essential for winter due to its durable outer construction made with Insuloft wadding offering unrivalled warmth to weight right where you need it. This is the key to winter outdoor exploring.
60g of Insuloft™ R-XE wadding has been included on the front and back of the Frostpoint Jacket to offer core warmth to the body. This soft wadding is ideal for wearing as a mid-layer underneath a shell or as a top layer over a long sleeve t shirt for added warmth and comfort. This is an essential piece for cold, windy and harsh climates, providing you with a first layer of warmth and protection.
Extra warmth is provided by a microfleece lining at the collar, chin guard and hand pockets. Internal storm cuffs help to reduce heat loss and trap warm air inside the garment for enhanced heat retention.
The outer is made using soft Polyamide blended with Elastane to create a strong, lightweight and tough quality, which is great for exploring a variety of outside surroundings. The Elastane gives this garment flexibility, stretch and freedom of movement so you can easily move around for a more enjoyable hike with nothing holding you back.
Durable Water Repellency finish has also been incorporated onto the outer fabric of the Frostpoint Vest. This is an advanced treatment on the material which provides excellent protection against showers as well as proving a hard wearing quality. This is great for unexpected showers and drizzly weather conditions, especially when worn solely.
Two internal mesh stash pocket, one with an elastic synch closure, doubles up at a Packpocket™ ensures you can easily pack away into your luggage or ruck sack while on your travels. Two zipped hand pockets and one zipped internal chest pocket are perfect for keeping your valuable items safe and protected.
The Frostpoint Jacket is a key garment for warmth to the body on cold days. Perfect for layering for maximum comfort but also has the added benefit that it serves well as a top layer.

We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.
Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.
Insuloft™ is an advanced synthetic wadding that offers a better warmth-to-weight ratio than polyester fleece and better performance when wet than conventional down. It’s durable, compressible, lightweight, easy to wash and fast drying – it’s the perfect choice for cold-weather protection.
Our DWR ™ finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade™ technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.
Losing the odd bit or bob when you’re close to home is rarely an issue, but losing car hire keys, passport, phone or wallet becomes more important than ever in a far off land. That’s why lots of thought goes into safer pockets – deeper, zipped and hidden.

Improved design over Icepack (and that was very good)
Warm and great pocket layout
Ideal mid layer on cold/wet days beneath my Hilltop or on its own with a mcro grid as a mid layer on dry days
Just received the vest. Definately warm enough for Winter. Soft, light and comfortable. Vest fits easily under my heavy coat. Good value.
I bought the Green Jacket a month or so ago and I think it is excellent all round.
Light thin but remarkably warm ...Not tested its water resistance yet but I can't fault the jacket so far in anyway. I liked it so much I also bought the carbon one in the sale.....
First I had a Nimbus(12years ago) then an Icepack( 6 years ago) and now a Frostpoint All great jackets Each one better than the last Another great piece of kit for holidays and adventures as well as every day use
Having owned a number of earlier Rohan jackets in a similar vein to this one, I think the Frostpoint jacket is easily the best yet. Although it's not had many outings so far this autumn, I've used it on cooler days to pop on after I've walked out to my favourite birding site to keep me warm whilst I'm standing around waiting. It's light, well cut, the outer material seems quite tough (so good under a rucsac) and the insulation really delivers. The cuffs keep the heat in very effectively but are not so restrictive that you can't look at your watch! Obviously you could put a shell on over the top if it gets colder still. Hoping to give it a more serious test in some mountains over Christmas/New Year, but so far - very impressive.
Bought my Nimbus about 12 /14 years ago and it traveled with me to places like Tibet and Peru Then the Icepack about 6years ago which protected me from the cold Munich winters and now the Frostpoint . All great jackets and each an improvement on the last and all at home on the hills or around town > like the pockets as I can carry a pack-able waterproof in one and a day sack in the other
Light and comfortable, the jacket is warm without bulk and protects effectively against showers. The carbon colour works well in urban environments. A particularly useful feature are the two internal mesh stash pockets, which are ideal for stashing a hat and gloves.
I am told I have to many jackets. When asked how many is enough: one more. The Frostpoint Jacket rounds out the collection nicely. I liken it to the Arcteryx Atom or a Patagonia Nano Puff, both of which I have tried on and owned the later. The former costs twice as much and doesn't look or fit as well. I ordered a medium and it is a generous medium true to other medium sized Rohan jackets. At 5'6" and 160 lbs. I am happy with the sizing since I am a generous medium...thanks COVID. It's a puffy jacket without being, well, puffy. The baffles show on the inside but not the exterior which provides a nice look for urban wear. At the same time is has all the great features of pockets, lightweight, and water repellency that will make it great for travel and hiking. I will update after some field testing
