This multi-pocketed jacket features five zipped security pockets in total, one internal and four external, allowing the wearer to carry all essentials items needed on any trip. An adjustable waist tie and cuffs have been provided for a closer fit and maximum versatility. This is the ultimate pioneering and trekking jacket, with the styling to work just as effectively in the city.
Our designers created a large vent on the rear of the jacket for increased air flow, improving breathability. Insect Shield® technology has been treated on the entirety of the jacket for long-lasting, effective and convenient insect protection.
Made using a combination of advanced Polyamide and Elastane for incredible and long lasting durability, comfort and freedom of movement. These modern fibres have a Dynamic Moisture Control™ finish and UPF 40+ Sun Protection, keeping you feeling cool and comfortable even in hot and humid conditions while protecting you against harmful UV rays.

Fast Drying - Drying Time: 4 hours
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.
SUN PROTECTION UPF 40+
This garment has been tested in accordance with recognized international standards for ultraviolet radiation protection – and has been awarded a rating of UPF 40+. The protection offered may be significantly reduced with extended wear or if the garment is stretched or wet. Any associated UV risks will vary according to individual skin type or medical history.

First review of Pioneer Jacket
For decades I have been trying to replace my US-Army surplus M-65 jacket. It was a sort of showerproof safari-type jacket. I think Pioneer has done it at last. I have tried it in the lockdown Peak district for a week with wind and snow flurries. The XXL size layers nicely over the Rohan vista for extra warmth, and sleeves are nearly knuckle length. The pockets are truly capacious for gloves, sunglasses, reading glasses, phone etc. It looks quite elegant in an army-surplus way (think Foggy Dewhurst here). Definitely a jacket for downtown Kyoto in winter. I have yet to try it in rain but will be happy if it is truly showerproof. I can rate it "good value" for money as I got a discount.

Just got this and I love it !!it fits like a glove
Looking forward to a trip to SA for rugby and I intend to live in it !!
Two possible improvements I would suggest to the genius who invented it:
A hood inside the collar and whilst it boasts more pockets than a snooker table perhaps an inside normal pocket .
All in all it looks and feels more expensive than it is ( Hugo boss type).
