Read more…The Men’s Ventus Jacket stands tough against the elements with our 3-Layer Barricade Standard technology. This 3-layer construction method bonds together a water repellent outer, waterproof-breathable membrane, and a moisture-wicking inner, to create the ultimate waterproof, windproof and breathable protection.
As an additional layer of protection, the Ventus Jacket is coated with our Durable Water Repellency finish, so when it rains, water droplets bead up and run off the outer rather than soaking the fabric. With an added stiff peak its exactly what you want in prolonged or heavy downpours.
Fitted with two Aquaguard pockets, you don’t need to worry about your valuables getting wet. They will fit essentials like OS Maps, so you can store the important things at your fingertips. On those especially cold days, the smart zipper pullers allow you to get into your pockets without removing your gloves. And if you get a little hot after powering up a hillside, the Aquaguard underarm zips will provide you a much-needed cooldown.

Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.
Durable Water Repellency
Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

Best Rohan jacket ever
This is an excellent jacket. Not only is it light for a full featured mountain jacket it also quiet and comfortable. It’s very breathable as well as completely waterproof. I have just come back from 3 days fell walking in very mixed conditions and it performed perfectly. There are other less expensive waterproofs that are great for more general use. But if you want a proper hill jacket for year round use this is the one. It’s my fourth Rohan hill jacket in about 20 years and it’s absolutely the best
With The Ventus There Is No Bad Weather
Having purchased this Sept 21 I then took it to a Campsite in Brighton.
The Ventus enjoyed 28 mph winds gusting to 56 mph with torrential rain. The jacket just took it in stride as a jacket should. This jacket has been manufactured to the art of perfection.
The following day was extremely windy, 15°C with a bright sun. The ventus kept the wind out and the under arm ventilation zips allowed any excess heat to disperse
This is now my one stop Rohan Jacket which clearly describes my quote of "With The Rohan Ventus There Is No Bad Weather"

The Men’s Ventus Jacket used in the Black Mountains
I used the Ventus for the first time on Tuesday on a walk in the Black Mountains, from The Hermitage and along the western ridge of the Black Mountains over several 600m + summits and back over Table Mountain into Crickhowell.
It was a warm and muggy day with constant drizzle so waterproofs were needed and the Ventus performed admirably. The pit zips were used and very effective with the highly breathable 3-layer Barricade technology fabric.
The large pockets were useful as well.
I’m a practicing International Mountain Leader so need good waterproof clothing and the Ventus more than satisfies my requirements.
