Softer, suppler and far more comfortable than the fleeces of yesteryear, the Alligin Jacket is a highly functional, incredibly warm jacket that will work fantastically as a top layer on cold days or as a mid-layer on extremely bitter days thanks to the tufted, lofty high-pile fabric that traps an abundance of warmth.
With a quick-dry time and the added benefit of being easycare, you can wash it, hang it up to dry overnight and it will be ready to go again by morning.
As well as giving it a vintage aesthetic, the Airlight™ fabric on the shoulders and chest pocket improves durability, which is particularly useful if you’re often taking a backpack with you on your winter walks.
There are two secure zipped hand pockets at the waist and one on the chest, so plenty of space for all your essentials. There’s also stretch binding on the neck, around the hem and cuffs for improved comfort and warmth.

Warm and cosy
Very pleased with the fleece. Good value at the sale price.
Lovely gleece
Classic style of fleece but much lighter than similar one's from 20 years or so ago. Good fit, warm and practical. Just hope the manufacturing quality holds up. Some of the seems and zips have been a bit of s let down over the last few years.
But back to the fleece, just what the doctor ordered under a waterproof in cold wet conditions, do far I love it.

Alligrin unbound!
As a very long time devotee ,early 70's, and strong advocate of products and designs this one disappointed somewhat. The styling was an "update" on the traditional with fabric wear patches which, presumably, was in obviation of a tendency to frictional "pilling". The fleece did not "relax" in wearing and had an uncomfortable stiffness especially along the zip so that the garment did not "ease" to shape. Warmth Very Good.
Super warm soft cosy fleece
Warning. This fleece is not for warm weather. Soft, cosy, air trapping. Great pockets. Superb for winter days.
Men's Alligin Fleece Jacket, Size Medium
Love this fleece. Purchased in the sale in January 2020 at GBP39.20 and ordered another in February clearance sales, where the clearance price oddly increased to GBP49. Despite this quirk of pricing, the performance is such that it overrides the inconsistency of Rohan sale pricing and discontinuations that can make buying Rohan feel akin to gambling. At full price of GBP 100 it would feel expensive.
Orange and Blue colour is spot on. Fit for me is perfect and I tend to fit Medium very well. The warmth is outstanding and I wear it on cold days under a Medium Hilltop Jacket or in the house (when the heating is off) as a top layer. Pockets are a good size and in the right place for putting hands into (not the case with everything eh?). The zip action is smooth and works every time. Not used the chest pocket yet, but an extra zipped pocket is always good.
Men's Alligin Fleece
Early days yet and the seriously cold weather hasn't arrived, but I know that when it does I have the ultimate fleece to wear. I am comfortable wearing it, its warmth is already very apparent. A great piece of kit for all outdoor activities. It delivers. Get one.
