Read more…The Frostpoint Vest is essential for winter due to its durable outer construction made with Insuloft wadding offering unrivalled warmth to weight right where you need it. This is the key to winter outdoor exploring such as hikes and treks.
60g of Insuloft wadding has been included on the front and back of the Frostpoint Vest to offer core warmth to the body. This soft wadding is ideal for wearing as a mid-layer underneath a shell or as a top layer over a long sleeve t shirt for added warmth and comfort. This is an essential piece for cold, windy and harsh climates, providing you with a first layer of warmth and protection.
The outer is made using soft Polyamide blended with Elastane to create a strong, lightweight and tough quality, which is great for exploring a variety of outside surroundings. The Elastane gives this garment flexibility, stretch and freedom of movement so you can easily move around for a more enjoyable hike with nothing holding you back.
Durable Water Repellency finish has also been incorporated onto the outer fabric of the Frostpoint Vest. This is an advanced treatment on the material which provides excellent protection against showers as well as proving a hard wearing quality. This is great for unexpected showers and drizzly weather conditions, especially when worn solely. However, only the areas the vest covers will be protected.
The Frostpoint Vest has two internal mesh stash pockets, one of which has an elastic synch closure and doubles up as a Packpocket - in order for you to store your vest in a compact bag of its own ready for whenever you need it on your travels.
Two zipped hand pockets with added Microfleece on either side of the jacket hold your belongings, maps or a place to warm up your hands. An internal chest pocket features on the inside of the garment to protect and hold your valuables.
Microfleece is also used to line the collar and chin guard for maximum comfort and protection against the wind, rain and cold.
The Frostpoint Vest is a key garment for warmth to the body on cold days. Perfect for layering for maximum comfort but also have the added benefit that it also serves well as a top layer over a top.

Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

Disappointing zip flaw
The longer length body of this vest is great, but it doesn’t have a two way zip. Another review mentions that this can be a problem when sitting down. An even bigger issue for me is that you have to undo the vest completely when you need to get to the zip on your trousers…
I would have sent it back but I need the warmth and will put up with the hassle.

Really great item. Great fit, lovely and warm without being bulky. Great hand pockets at the right height to use, secure, internal chest pocket will fit a passport. Good length and the best piece of clothing I have from Rohan in a good while. Got the gift your gear discount and am ok with c. £100, it is likely a £80 item as a sweet spot. Will live in this for winter.

Just got this and I’m not sure about it :
It appears to be much longer than others I have,
It has no double zip which other products have so when you sit down it can be released at the bottom.
It also appears to crease a fair bit when put it the inside pouch
also the inside pouch goes not have the Rohan logo on
All in all not as keen as others but it was £55 instead of £110 so will mull it over a bit longer

Perfect fit as an XL. Fits well under a heavy coat or jacket.
That bit warmer than my Rohan Icepoint Vest which is exactly why I bought it for this colder weather. Could be worn inside any Scottish Castle!
This also has 2 large poachers pockets -very useful.
I am sure it will wash as well as my Icepoint does.
