They’re made from an extremely durable and stretchy blend of polyamide and elastane. This rugged fabric offers two-way stretch for maximum flexibility and unlimited freedom of movement.
Our Dynamic Moisture Control finish improves wicking, speeds up drying times and keeps you feeling cool, dry and comfortable – even in the hottest and most humid conditions.
They feature an adjustable hem to accommodate the broad fit required of a bulky trekking boot, and allow the trouser to be cinched in for a perfect fit. Therefore the inside seam length will be shorter from the standard fit in the range.
Large belt loops have been incorporated into the design to accommodate all belt sizes.
Our Highground Trousers feature two zipped hand pockets for easy and quick access, a zipped rear pocket to keep your valuables safe and a concealed Tri-ring to secure everyday outdoor essentials.

Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.

Robust everyday outdoor trousers
I've been wearing these ever since I bought them, they are really practical. As a winter caravanner and dog walker I particularly like the stretch, the water repellence and the zip pockets.
Great Trousers
These are my go to trousers, even of all my various Rohan pairs. They fit really nicely. I am fed up of reviews which may influence Rohan, in my view, negatively. I am a dumpy old man but these trousers disguise that fact very well. Long may it continue that Rohan make comfortable trousers without using lots of wasteful material flapping around my thighs. If its a problem, don't kid yourself. Get a bigger size.
Highground walking trousers
I bought two pairs of these for walking but have kept the blue ones for about town as they are comfy, smart and well designed.
The others are great for walking/ golf etc- warm with flexibility.
Men`s Highground Walking Trousers
Since 1998 Rohans are the only trousers I have purchased. I can even wear them for weddings and funerals. Due to the low waist I found the Highgrounds to be ill fitting regardless of which type of belt I used so I left them on a coat hanger for 18 months. Last week I sent for 2" wide work braces (better not mention brand!) . After adjusting the brace`s length the Rohans now seem like bespoke tailor made trousers. Great fit. The Highground material is substantial so should not get damaged by the brace`s metal clips. Thanks.
Highly commended
Perfect fit in waist & length, fairly close fitting, very comfortable and smart enough for everyday use. As someone who runs fairly hot, ideal trousers for late autumn/early winter. Very pleased and would buy another pair if 32s was available in carbon.
Tough, good looking but not the most comfortable
These trousers are made of quite a tough thick material, fit well and hold their shape however the material feels rather rougher than I am used to so not as comfortable to wear as other styles.
Great mid-weight trousers
Very pleased to have got these for half price. I wear a short leg length and these are a perfect fit, whereas the Trailblazers I also bought in short were a good two inches too long and had to be turned up. These are slightly heavier than the Trailblazers and thus, perfect for use in cooler weather. Also, because they don’t have cargo pockets, they look smart too. Thanks Rohan!
Quality of old Rohan
So good I went to buy another pair - but out of stock. They had the quality and suspect the durability of what my older Rohan trouser used to be. Less stretchy than their more recent styles and feels better quality. Delighted with them and would recommend. Great value at sale price. but would willingly pay full price.
Is it me, have I shrunk?
Too short in the leg, too low cut and way too big in the waist. What is going on with Rohan sizing?
Function before form, please
When is Rohan going to wise up to the fact that they are not a fashion house, nor are they regarded as such by the age groups they're clearly trying to woo at the expense of their core, traditionalist, market. That is to say, people who want comfort, functionality and quality. These are meant to be walking trousers but while they have the usual Rohan construction quality I want them to fit above my hips, not on them. I want a 32" waist to be just that (not a 34"), and I want the legs to be cut to allow some actual walking, not clinging to my calves like something from JD Sports. Ever increasing amounts of elastene will never compensate for the lack of functional design, please note. They're going back, just like the previous pair of trousers.
Generally very good
These are a little heavier than some Rohan trousers, but at the same time this makes them warmer. As I'm shorter than the average 36S users, I sometimes have trousers shortened. There was an excellent alterations tailor near the (now permanently closed) Tunbridge Wells shop. However, the adjustable 'hem' although a good idea, enabling switching lengths when swopping walking boots for trainers, more or less prohibits shortening because of the expense involved. I think that they will be OK for my normal Solomon Canvas walking shoes where the significant safety requirement is that trousers don't trail the ground.

Wow, these are fantastic. I took advantage of the discount offer to try a pair of these with the idea of using them in the office and out. They fit the requirements of smart and casual and the fabric looks to be really durable. For me these really fit into the town to country look.
