With a classic cut, a durable polyamide fabric with comfortable four way stretch and zipped security pockets, the Transfer Trousers are a great choice for winter city breaks and business wear.
Read more…Made with a blend of durable polyamide with a touch of polyester and elastane, the Transfer Trousers are a hard-wearing, stretchy and warm pair of trousers in a classic chino style that would be great for winter breaks and work wear.
The tough polyamide MultiFlex™ fabric with its four way stretch makes these otherwise normal looking pair of chinos, perform in an abnormal way – they’re totally unrestricted and allow amazing freedom of movement, making them very comfortable even if worn for a long period of time, great if you’re sightseeing or flying for a business meeting.
They’re warmer than normal chinos and with a Durable Water Repellency™ finish, they provide a good level of protection from the elements.
The classic chino styling means they have the usual snap and zip fly opening, belt loops and drop in hand pockets, but they also have a hidden internal zip pocket for protecting valuables, a Tri Ring and two rear pockets, with one being a secured zipped pocket.
Considering the robust nature of the fabric, the Transfer Trousers are very lightweight, are easy to care for and have a quick dry time, making them ideal for taking away with you when you want to travel light and don’t want to waste any time on laundry duties.
The Transfer Trousers are an ideal winter travel pair of chinos that not only look great for sightseeing around town or attending a business meeting, but also perform really well in wintery conditions, and provide great stretch for long-lasting comfort.

We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.
Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.
Our DWR ™ finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade™ technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.
Losing the odd bit or bob when you’re close to home is rarely an issue, but losing car hire keys, passport, phone or wallet becomes more important than ever in a far off land. That’s why lots of thought goes into safer pockets – deeper, zipped and hidden.

I have lived in these trousers everyday from September 2020 to January 2021 and only now have transferred my affections to a pair of Winter Fusion Trousers. The material is thick, warm, stretchy, shower proof, does not wrinkle or crease, and the trousers are comfortable and look incredibly smart. The only downside is that the legs are slim and it takes time for an oldie to get used to wearing narrow leg trousers again. (Fine when you are 16 but difficult 60 years later). Like other reviewers, I had to go up a size to ensure that the waistband could be secured with the button. Older readers will recognize the allusion to Max Wall in an earlier review, but youngsters will have to do some internet searches. I recommend these trousers subject to the warning about the snug fit round the nether regions. Can't wait to wear them when on a long distance flight in Club Class where they will not look out of place.
This is a great quality product and a bonus with the water repellency finish.
Check current sale prices for a bargain buy bit of kit,
But beware these trousers are a size smaller than what you will expect delivered,
Save yourself time making returns and not having to chat with the nice man in customer service regarding replacement.
"Buy a size larger than normal" and get a super quality product the fit you want,
I normally take a size 34 trousers [have some Rohan in 32 inch] so decide to play safe and order a 34 inch. However, there is no way these were a 34 inch so returned and exchanged for a 36 inch [I have never had 36 inch trousers!!]. These fitted perfectly and look really nice. I wouldnt class them as chinos though but I think they will be great for travel etc.
I have three pairs of transfer trousers. The quality of the fabric and the styling are excellent. They are styled very slim fit which is fine for me but needs to be mentioned in the description. There is however a quality control issue. The waist band can vary by as much as two inches for the same size. Also the aperture for the pockets vary considerably. The latest pair I've bought have pockets that I can only just get my hand in
Sorry but had to return these. Only for the slender legs or if attending a Max Wall convention. These are really snug. Refunded no problem and replaced with Newtown chinos.
I have four pairs of Rohan trousers, three are 32” and one is 30” waist. I had to get a 34” for these which is a little annoying especially as I had to send the 32’s back at my expense
