We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.
Low pack size is a benefit whether you’re packing for a day’s walking or for the trip of a lifetime. We continually scrutinise fabric specification and garment construction to minimise the packed size of our clothing. The actual pack size is tested and listed.
All Rohan clothing is designed to be very fast drying – as much a benefit for unexpected downpours as anything else. It’s easy to wash and often needs no ironing. Almost all garments will dry overnight, meaning you can take less with you. We test every item and list its drying time.
DMC™ is a wicking treatment that rapidly spreads the moisture our bodies create across the surface area of a garment. This can be achieved through the technical construction of the garment or by a performance coating and ensures that the garment dries more quickly, encourages evaporative heat loss and helps you stay cooler and more comfortable for longer.
Losing the odd bit or bob when you’re close to home is rarely an issue, but losing car hire keys, passport, phone or wallet becomes more important than ever in a far off land. That’s why lots of thought goes into safer pockets – deeper, zipped and hidden.

These are very warm trousers and almost totally windproof. The slight stretch quality, particularly the stretch patch front pockets are far better than the old non stretch airlight material pre this iteration. However, I have a couple of quibbles. The waist does give a very slight amount but not enough for me. In winter temperatures you may be wearing additional under layers and what fits well without layers, becomes over tight and uncomfortable when donning extra under layers. So, in my opinion the waist should have an elastic portion to allow more give. Also, granted, we are all different shapes but having worn mine now for longer periods recently, I find the crotch is too high, which gives you all sorts of aches and pains down under. Maybe it's me but perhaps the cut didn't take the insuloft lining thickness into account and the result is limited volume in the crotch area. Yes, the waist button looks a little under specified but otherwise your legs shall never be cold in these - but double check the cut and fit.
Excellent quality Trousers,Only Downside of them is the cheap button that fastens them!Thought on a pair of trousers costing as much it would have been of better quality!Otherwise they are awesome trousers!
Bought for my 90 year old Father, super to keep him warm during this cold snap. Comfortable, easy to wash and dry, plenty of spacious zipped pockets to keep wallet and keys in. So good I bought two pairs.
I would recommend going up a waist size as they are smaller fit, maybe due to thicker material.
Must be the ultimate in really cold weather gear. I had a pair of these some years ago when I had a 30 inch waist. I can remember how comfortable they were if you had to be immobile in cold temperatures. Unfortunately, I found them ultimately too small, and couldn't do up the waist without extenders! I donated them to some lucky soul. Will buy another pair sometime soon. If walking hard in less than cold conditions, you might well overheat, they work that well.
I have had about a dozen pairs of Bags over decades but stopped buying them a few years ago when Stretch Bags came out - now have 5 pairs of Stretch ones- they are great. Still have Winter Bags for cold weather. Was delighted when Winter Stretch Bags came out - particularly at sale price. These are fantastic winter trousers - give more articulation and flex than old Winter Bags and work well under waterproof over-trousers as they are not at all bulky. Very well cut for my slim build. I would prefer anything but Carbon colour - otherwise full marks.
