Read more…The Trail Hooded Top is a technical jersey-style ‘hoodie’ with Insect Shield® treatment.
Insect Shield® technology converts clothing into long-lasting, effective and convenient insect protection – reducing insect landings and bites. The treatment is so tightly bonded to the fabric fibres it’ll retain its effectiveness throughout the expected life of the product.
Tough and lightweight, the Trail Hooded Top is made from soft, stretchy Dryknit™ polyester and designed using our Minimum Layer Construction™ for warmth without the bulk.
With extended sleeves, thumb holes and of course the hood, you can wrap up well and minimise the likelihood of uninvited airborne guests joining you around the camp fire or gate-crashing your evening meal.
As well as helping take care of the mini-beasts, it does a fantastic job of keeping the chill off when the sun goes down, and with its UPF 40+ Sun Protection* and hood, it’ll give you greater defence against the sun’s harmful UV rays when you need it.
It packs down nice and small too, so it’s always there for you, at the bottom of your day pack, just in case.

This item is the closest to a discontinued hooded training top. It is the same good quality top I expected from Rohan. Well done.

This has been indispensable in the summer, not too hot to wear as a cover up when the sun is shining whilst providing just enough warmth when it's cloudy. Packs down small enough to carry in a handbag. Only criticism is the shape - very wide on the shoulders (would have been better if it had raglan sleeves), whilst the body is slim fit. Nice length and the extra long sleeves with thumb hole are good.
But where’s the matching Fleet Vest?
My third one of these wonderful tops and great to see it in Willow. The fabric has an uncanny ability to keep you warm in the breeze but not too hot when you want sun protection. But where’s the matching vest this year? The vest has a high back so you can wear it with a rucksack but enough coverage to look smart and the fabric isn’t shiny or see-through. Combined with the Hooded Top, you have a combination to take you from early morning chill to the heat of the day to the cool of the evening through almost any activity. The top is great, but not nearly as useful without the vest. Please, Rohan, add the vest in Willow!

Warm, but not too warm, roomy but not too roomy, with a good that’s just the right size and it’s super comfortable. And perfect in this cold, cold weather to layer up with a Rohan Icepack vest. More colours, please!
Hoping they do more colours - brilliant hoody
light enough it stuffed into the gap at the back on my backpack, washed and dried in a jiffy. The large hood was great for travelling - esp flying/sleeping. the lovely long sleeves with thumb holes were a delight. Add in the sun protection and mainly the bug protection and its a win win win. Never got bitten once wearing it in the evening in the Amazon. Perfect performance.
Comfort personified!
Wear this with a Serene vest or Cami under and you have an exceptionally comfortable summer top. Crossed neck line at the front lies neatly and gives a good airy feel around the neck. Whole garment sits nicely with no drag and longer sleeves with thumb hole actually long enough to be useful.. The hood is an excellent size allowing it to sit airily off the neck so not claustrophobic. Good if sitting in car/bus/train as big enough to pull around the side of the face to protect from sun if necessary. No pilling, easy to wash and dries quickly on a hanger. Now have two. Hope it continues in the same neck style.

An excellent addition to my wardrobe. Enjoy the comfort of this soft breathable fabric and its stylish neck shape, good shaped hood & fine stripe pattern detail. Had so much wear out of it - under a matching coloured denim shirt or on its own that I now have 2!
