Providing a capacity of 35 litres, the Stravaig 35 is a rugged daysack suitable for four season walking and tough, extended trekking trips.
It’s made from our own hard-wearing Blockade™ fabric for rugged durability in combination with a high degree of water and stain repellence. The lining is just as sophisticated – it’s made from our lightweight, water repellent Pacsil™ siliconised polyamide.
The main compartment is accessed through a traditional quick-release buckled lid and features an internal drawcorded collar to compress the load and protect the contents.
On the inside, there’s a sleeve to suspend a hydration system – there’s an exit point at one side to allow the tube to be conveniently positioned on the shoulder straps.
On the underside of the lid there’s a zipped mesh pocket which contains a key clip. It’s just the place to keep items that you’re not going to need very often during the day – such as your wallet, your car keys and a phone – nice and safe and out of the way.
On the outside, there’s a large capacity top pocket with a wide, easy access zip. It’s designed to store small trekking essentials such as a map, a compass, a head torch and a couple of chocolate bars. There’s also a very generous ‘kangaroo’ pocket on the front. It’s accessed by a long vertical zip. Although quite an unusual feature, it’s a very useful one. It’s a brilliant place to stash wet, dirty or sharp things that might damage the contents of the main compartment. There’s enough space there for a wet waterproof or walking crampons in their protective case.
There’s twin attachment points on the outside suitable for trekking poles or a walking axe.
The back system is a comfortable, fixed length arrangement of well-padded shoulder straps in conjunction with a supportive padded hip-belt. The chest straps are easily adjustable for height – they just slide up and down the chest straps.
There’s a compression strap at the top of both sides with a quick-release buckle. They work to stabilise the load and, in conjunction with the stretch-mesh wand pockets at the base, offer a good, secure place to attach trekking poles.
Hidden in a small compartment in the bottom is a water-resistant cover. In heavy rain, just pull it out – it covers the whole rucksack and is held in place with an elasticated, adjustable drawcord. Not a common feature but really handy to have if you’re out walking in wet countries. Obviously, you’ll hardly ever use it in the UK!
