Read more…Using innovative infrared technology, Rohan have been able to create a ground breaking pair of cold-weather jeans that have reduced bulk and weight compared to traditional lined winter jeans. Now you can travel further to the coldest countries without breaking the luggage limit.
The THERMOLITE® PRO* technology uses special ceramic pigments in the fibre of the yarn which transfers energy from infrared rays of the sun into heat which then warms the body. The warmth is then collected within the hollow-core yarn, trapping heat and creating a thermal layer of insulation.
What you’re left with, is a low-bulk fabric that will keep you warmer for longer. The brushed back denim is also soft and warm against the skin making them incredibly comfortable to wear.
Designed in the same cut as our Straight Leg Jeans, the Nordic Jeans feature two front hand pockets, two rear patch pockets and a hidden zipped pocket on the back seam.
Like all Rohan clothing the Nordic Jeans are easy to care for – totally washable and dry comfortably hanging up overnight, with little to no ironing required. They’re also incredibly light considering the thermal nature of the denim, this improved warmth to weight ratio make them ideal for taking with you on your next arctic adventure.

Much warmer than ordinary jeans and not bulky.
Winter roamers which have a separate lining are warmer still, but also bulkier.
Glad I took the advice of another reviewer to order one size larger than normal, and they fit well.

My review of women’s Nordic Jeans
Like the first reviewer I’ve found these jeans to be a tight fit - especially from the waist to the crotch. This means that any activity involving the need to sit or crouch - is difficult. Otherwise, they have an added smartness in comparison to the heavier, lined jeans. I am going to try a larger size, and hope that I don’t find, like the previous reviewer, that they I’ll be over large. Apart from this issue, they offer a good level of warmth.
Disappointing
I so want a pair of warm winter jeans that are comfortable enough to wear everyday but smart too. I have previously bought Rohan's jeans and I flike them so much I would wear them everyday but they are lightweight and can be chilly for winter wear. I found the lined version to be cut too tight, especially from waist to crotch and bulky with the extra fabric so I was delighted when I saw this 2019/20 version. I've found them quite warm, but heavier in weight than I was expecting. They have some "give" or stretch but not enough IMO. Most importantly for prospective purchasers, I have also had to go up a size from that I have for both my jeans and Roamers (and I had to pay my postage when I returned my original order for the exchange to the bigger size) because the waist was so tight, I couldn't even think of doing it up. So I'm keeping these but really they're not the best fit because now they're really too big........
