We design our clothing to be ready for any challenge you throw at it. Whether you’re traveling or in the great outdoors, everything we create reflects our focus on our five principles: Protective, Lightweight, Packable, Easy Care and Versatile.

 

To make sure we’re kitting you out in the clothing you need for the journey you’re planning, our trousers often use a blend of polyamide and elastane to create what we call MultiFlex. Polyamide fibers are long-lasting and tough, so tough that they’re often used to make parachutes. This synthetic, nylon-based fiber is soft to touch, and brings durability to MultiFlex, while elastane is a more malleable synthetic, adding a resilient stretch that enables a garment to retain its shape no matter how active your adventures.

 

 

We select the best blend of these fibers based on the season and climate you’ll be in, and the activity you’ll be doing, using different blends in different garments, or sometimes even different blends across one garment, to enhance the benefits of these truly versatile fibers.

 

We take this innovation further with MultiFlex Light, which offers the same blend of polyamide and elastane in lighter-weight fabric, for your more active, warm-weather outings. While MultiFlex features consistently across the garments we design for the cooler temperatures of autumn, winter and spring, MultiFlex Light is better suited to the brighter, warmer weather of Spring, Summer and Autumn.

 

 

The durability of polyamide fibres makes them ideal for use in our protective clothing. We blend with elastane for freedom of movement, and can then apply coatings like Insect Shield for added protection when you’re out exploring. You can see this use of MultiFlex in action in our Pioneer Trousers.

 

We want our clothing to be as lightweight as it can be for its intended use. So, when you’re traveling in our MultiFlex range, you can focus on nothing but where you’re heading, and hardly notice the Rohan kit that’s moving with you. The light, breathable fabrics we blend to create MultiFlex Light are also quick drying, an essential feature of any kit you’re planning to travel with. Our use of MultiFlex enables us to design practical, versatile clothing, so you can experience all-day comfort across all seasons and activities; our Stretch Bags Trousers are a great example of this.

 

 

Rohan kit is for every journey, so it needs to be packable and easy care. Pack minimum-iron kit like our Vista Trousers, into your backpack and they’ll still look fresh a couple of days later, when you throw them on for the warmer days of a multi-day hike.

 

Our Vista Trousers are the first to feature a new addition to our MultiFlex range – MultiFlex Vapour. Perfect for summer, this lightweight blend has a higher elastane content and means we can now offer a version of MultiFlex for all seasons.
