Keep the cold and rain at bay with the Bowland Jacket, combining synthetic Insuloft quilted insulation with our 2-Layer Barricade Standard waterproof membrane and a PFC-free Durable Water Repellency finish. Designed to provide unwavering protection against the elements, this jacket is perfectly suited for adventuring in cold and wet climates. Featuring a total of 5 pockets to store your exploring essentials, including 2 large bellowed drop-in pockets secured with a snap fastening, 2 secure zipped pockets in the mid-section, and 1 hidden secure zipped pocket with a Tri-ring attachment placed behind the central placket.
The central 2-way zip is protected by a double storm placket with snap fastenings. To make it more comfortable to secure the top 3 snap fastenings, there are 3 built in finger loops on the jacket to help you close the snaps without pressing them against your body. Attached to the central zip you will find a removable whistle.
Insuloft synthetic insulation is spread throughout the jacket in varying weights to facilitate easy movement. With 100gsm wadding across the body and hood, 80gsm wadding across the arms and plackets, and 200gsm wadding around the edge of the hood.
Enhance your protection with a fixed hood featuring a 3-point adjustment, and an adjustable hem and cuffs to allow you to batten down the hatches when the rain descends. For added comfort and warmth, soft brushed back fleece has been placed around the neck, inside the chin guard, and inside the pocket bags.

At last a proper phone sized pocket on the outside, please replicate on other jackets as the pack-pocket type is not suitable for carrying a phone. Pockets are good although an addition of internal stash pockets would be nice Kept me warm and dry in Icelandic winter weather, rain, snow and wild winds were all encountered. I liked the additional loop to help using the press studs but like many jackets please make the 2 way zips easier to use especially with gloved hands and fighting the wind. Was this review helpful?3 months agoMen's Bowland Jacket Copper OrangeGood fit both with and without a layer underneath. Enough pocket space for me and keeps me warm enough in this cold weather. Was this review helpful?4 months agoMen's Bowland Jacket True NavyBest buy ever! Expensive but even better in the sale. Warmest and very comfortableWas this review helpful?4 months agoMen's Bowland Jacket Copper OrangeJust got the men's Bowland jacket. It's a great combo of waterproof and insulation. I haven't worn it in the rain yet, but I've been out in -4C windy weather with just a light jumper under it, and I was perfectly comfortable. One complaint is that there is no internal zip chest pocket for my phone. And the double zipper is hard to get started. Otherwise, a great jacket. Was this review helpful?5 months agoMen's Bowland Jacket Copper OrangeThis is the Rohan product I've been waiting for - a jacket with waterproofing and insulation. Until now every jacket I've seen has been one or the other. I don't know why it has taken Rohan so long to make this, but now it's here it's pretty good. The only defects are the two chest pockets (which have the zips on the outer vertical edges of the pocket, so high up that you have to be a contortionist to reach them; the zips should be adjacent to the placket instead); and the length, which is 2-3 inches too short for me. I'm 6'3" so I often find jackets short - but the sleeves are the right length for me! Overall, it's pretty good. The copper colour is more brown than orange; still quite bright but it doesn't look like a high-viz vest!2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?5 months ago

2-Layer Barricade-
Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

The Barricade standard gives you reassurance of a high level of waterproof protection. All of our waterproofs must meet our Barricade Standard to be ten times the British standard for waterproofing.
The waterproof fabric of the garment has two layers. The water-repellent outer fabric and the PU hydrophilic membrane are bonded together. In addition, a loose lining protects the membrane from the inside.
