Men's Rime Insulated Quilted Gilet

Nice colour, comfortable but I really didn't like the fit. It seemed to "flare" out towards the hips which made it look odd. Had to return it unfortunately.

I was looking for a lightweight gilet for Spring, for dog walking, Scout hikes and whatever else took me outdoors. I wanted practical pockets too, so when I chanced across the rust coloured version in the sale it ticked all the boxes. This year it’s been perfect, as I can wear it over a base layer or thin fleece for chilly mornings, or over a tshirt on warmer days if I want something lightweight but need pockets. It’s excellent quality and I can vouch for the water resistance after being caught out a couple of times in showers. I really like the colour and smart simplicity too, which makes it practical for country or city wear when needed.

I still have (and still use) the predecessor Icepack and Frostpoint Gilets/Vests, and the Rime Gilet seems to be a natural progression. I think the single most important feature is the excellent weight/bulk to warmth ratio. It seems to be less bulky than the previous gilets but still provides excellent warmth - and goes over a t-shirt with being baggy, or will fit easily under a waterproof/hardshell - with, say, the Rime Jacket - if it's really cold. In fact it hasn't been cold enough here yet to really test it, but on a couple of outings so far I've been very impressed. Nice colour too! Thoroughly recommended.
