With a waterproof membrane, a low bulk finish and a soft, warm liner, the Storm Waterproof Gloves are an excellent choice for everyday wear in a typical wet, British winter.
Read more…If the heavens open you’re going to want to make sure that your waterproof protection doesn’t stop at your wrists. With a technical waterproof membrane and tough Durable Water Repellency finish, the Storm Gloves provide plenty of protection from the elements.
Three essential layers are sandwiched together to make up the Storm Gloves. There’s a tough polyamide-blend outer with a Durable Water Repellency™ finish that prevents wetting out whilst offering excellent protection from the wind, a technical waterproof membrane that keeps hands completely dry, and a high-pile, super soft lining that traps warmth and keeps hands comfortable.
We’ve made the Storm Waterproof Gloves as low-bulk as possible to provide maximum dexterity, and we’ve also included a tough, abrasion resistant patch on the palm that offers excellent grip making these great for scramblers and hillwalkers who don’t let the rain stop them.
The cuffs are elasticated to trap warmth and prevent water ingress, and there’s clips that keep the gloves together.
Durable, completely waterproof, wind resistant and providing plenty of warmth, these are a great choice for a wet and windy winter.
Fabric:
Shell: 93% polyamide 7% elastane; palm patch: 60% polyurethane 40% polyamide; thumb back: 91% polyester 9% elastane; lining: 100% polyester
We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.
Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

Like other reviewers such as Gerrie I was disappointed that these quite expensive gloves are not really suitable for cold weather use. I have used them almost every day while dog walking this winter and have cold fingers after just a few minutes in cold weather. If I had discovered this within 14 days I would have returned them. I mentioned the issue to the Rohan shop assistant to see if others had similar problems, since for me they are not fit for purpose and should not be described as suited for cold weather use.
They are waterproof and windproof. They are expensive, but do a good job.
If you want a warmer pair then pay £10 more and go for the Glacier Waterproof Gloves, which have proper insulation.
Disappointing!
They are waterproof but I would dispute this statement regarding features:-
"High-pile super soft liner for ... warmth."
I bought these on a cold and very wet afternoon and wore them immediately. My hands were warm when I put them into the gloves. They kept my hands dry but they got colder over the time that I wore them. Once I removed the gloves all my fingers were cold.
The pile lining is useless. A Polar fleece lining would have been much more effective. The pile liner leaks heat and looks like it came from one of the "teddy bear" style fleece tops which are popular at the cheaper end of the market.
Ironically, I feel that I have been fleeced!
These gloves are expensive and, to date, the only disappointing product that I have purchased from Rohan.
