Local Knowledge
From the Foothills Rohan shop it’s less than 5 miles to the Peak District National Park Boundary. White Edge, Curbar Edge and the Longshaw Estate are close by to a great pub called The Grouse. From Longshaw you can easily go further afield but there are some great family walks to be had around here, as well as a lovely little cafe if you don’t fancy the pub.
If you’re not wanting a walk then a short journey in the opposite direction takes you to the town centre which is pleasant on a nice day. There’s the Peace Gardens surrounded by shops and cafes, and if it is a wet day, it’s worth a look inside the Winter Gardens where there are lots of lovely plants and more cafes!
