What is Gift Your Gear?
Our Gift Your Gear initiative invites you to donate your pre-loved outdoor clothing, giving it a second life and helping others to enjoy the great outdoors.
By participating, you contribute to reducing waste and supporting local community groups and organisations that encourage outdoor activities to those who might not have access to the great outdoors, or essential kit without them. Join us in breaking down barriers and promoting sustainability and adventure for everyone.
We are currently accepting donations in our shops until 9th November 2025.
Where do your donations go?
When you donate to our Gift Your Gear initiative, your contributions are distributed to a variety of community groups, charities, schools, and outdoor organisations.
These beneficiaries use the donated kit to facilitate outdoor adventures, educational programmes, and skill-building activities within their communities. Your pre-loved outdoor clothing helps to provide young people and adults with the opportunity to explore nature, learn new skills, and build confidence in an outdoor setting amongst like-minded individuals. Your donations are also a tremendous help to charities that support less fortunate individuals facing homelessness, by providing them with essential clothing items. Thank you for supporting Gift Your Gear and helping to inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. Your generosity equips and empowers communities, making the great outdoors accessible and enjoyable for all.
Since the start of 2020, we've donated over 4,700 boxes of outdoor kit!

What kit do we really need?
We’re in need of waterproofs, jackets, backpacks, walking footwear, warm accessories, and children’s outdoor kit.
These essential items enable individuals of all ages to enjoy the outdoors comfortably, and safely.
What to donate
If your outdoor kit is clean, useable – with no repairs needed, we’ll be happy to take it off your hands and pass it to one of our beneficiaries. Donations can be from any brand; kit such as waterproofs, jackets, fleeces, walking trousers, base layers, rucksacks and walking boots.
Excluded kit
Unfortunately, we can’t accept donations of outdoor equipment, such as that used for camping, climbing, snow sports or water sports gear. We’re also unable to accept underwear, sleeping bags and any kit that is unclean or in need of repair.

How to donate
Getting your donations to us is simple. You can bring your kit to any Rohan shop to send it off on its next outdoor adventure. We have over 45 shops nationwide.
