The lightest-weight jacket in our current range, weighing in at only 85g, the Nimbus Jacket is a great addition to your daypack on more active trips, packing down easily into its own Packpocket.
Crafted from soft and lightweight, yet completely windproof, fabric, the nylon ripstop construction of this protective jacket is tough and durable, ready to withstand your active lifestyle and be your go-to layer when the wind picks up on the hills.
Designed to be as lightweight as possible, features have been stripped back and kept to only the essentials. A single adjuster at the hem allows you to tighten the fit around your waist, and elasticated cuffs also help to keep the breeze out. The Durable Water Repellency finish applied to this jacket allows you to stay protected even when unexpected showers come your way.
Whether you set off on your adventure on a crisp morning or the sun hasn’t joined you on your trek, layering this jacket with a long sleeve top or a lightweight fleece will allow you to feel warm while keeping the wind out.

It works well under non-technical (fashion!) coats too. The material is rather sheer (you can see through the black version), so I can see some might feel its status as a 'jacket' is a bit misleading. This Nimbus jacket was, in her words, "poor quality rubbish", completely lacking the robustnes and quality of the many other Rohan garments we own between. I already had this in the dark grey colour so decided to get a funkier colour - the raspberry pink doesn't disappoint - it's so light and fits beautifully in my handbag and is surprisingly warm. I am usually a 12-14 and would recommend the large size as the medium in the nimbus range comes up far too small. Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

Packpocket
Clever design is more often than not about what to take off rather than what to put on. It’s about giving one feature multiple functions. That’s why many of our garments feature a Packpocket. This handy addition converts pockets into space-saving storage by compressing the garment into itself. You could use it as a travel pillow when it’s all packed down too.
