  • The Full Story

The Kendal Cap has our 2-Layer Barricade Standard meaning that it is waterproof and windproof, it’ll most certainly keep your head dry in the wettest of weather. For an item to be given the Barricade Standard stamp of approval the membrane needs to be water resistant and breathable, and the seams of the garment construct need to have waterproofing tape along them, this cap won’t let you down.

There is a brushed fleece liner strategically placed at the ear flaps and rear of the hat to keep you ears and neck warm, whilst a mesh liner on the top of the head keeps you cool. It is a lightweight cap perfect for milder wet days, with a rear adjustment point you are able to keep the hat secure in strong winds and a stiffened peak allows rain to roll off protecting your face.

Lightweight - Weight 80 Grams

We were the original lightweight revolutionaries. Back in the 1970’s we realised that cutting weight without losing performance meant that you can take less and do more. Everything we make is engineered to achieve this.

  • Durable Water Repellency

Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

  • 2-Layer Barricade

The Barricade standard gives you reassurance of a high level of waterproof protection. All of our waterproofs must meet our Barricade Standard to be ten times the British standard for waterproofing.

The waterproof fabric of the garment has two layers. The water-repellent outer fabric and the PU hydrophilic membrane are bonded together. In addition, a loose lining protects the membrane from the inside.
