The Full Story
The Moor Overtrousers have been designed to be one of the lightest Overtrouers we’ve ever made, they are lightweight and comfortable so they feel like a second skin. Constructed with our 2.5-Layer Barricade Standard these trousers are fully waterproof, windproof and breathable.
Three key areas determine the Barricade Standard; Membrane Water Resistance, Membrane Breathability and; lastly, Garment Construction, our waterproofs will stop a 20,000mm column of water entering whilst allowing 20,000g/m2/24hr of water vapour to leave. Hydrophilic Monolithic membranes more commonly recognised as PU (polyurethane) are used and the seams of the garment are taped to create a fully sealed waterproof garment.
Our 2.5-Layer construction method is where the water-repellent outer fabric and the PU hydrophilic membrane are bonded together and then protected by a print. This 0.5 of a layer helps to keep you comfortable and the membrane protected. To top this off we’ve added our Durable Water Repellent finish to boost the water repellency of the fabric surface. Where the Barricade standard works to keep you dry DWR works to stop the fabric from wetting out. It does this by forcing any water droplets to ‘bead up’ and run off the jacket, rather than soaking into the material.
The features of these trousers focus on you being able to pull these trousers on as quickly as possible, with a fully elastic waist the trousers sit higher than the waist straps of a rucksack for extra comfort, and an adjustable cord at the front allows you to pull the waist tighter if needs be. The adjuster has a low profile and sits flat against the waistband so that being comfortable isn’t compromised.
Zippers that open up to the knee allow you to confidently pull these on without getting the mud on your boots all over the insides. The zippers are protected by a fabric placket to protect the rain from getting through, the placket is secured at the hem with an easy-to-use snap button. And when you’re finished on your adventure you can easily hang these up to dry with the hang loop attached to the back of the waistband.

Durable Water Repellency
Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

2.5-Layer Barricade
The Barricade standard gives you reassurance of a high level of waterproof protection. All of our waterproofs must meet our Barricade Standard to be ten times the British standard for waterproofing.
The water-repellent outer fabric and the PU hydrophilic membrane are bonded together and then protected by a print to be very lightweight. This added 0.5 layer helps to keep you comfortable and the membrane protected.
