My job takes me across some of the most spectacular scenery in the British Isles. As Area Manager covering the North, my patch stretches from Shrewsbury to Inverness and Aberdeen (and all points in between).
I am lucky to have some breath-taking drives during my working day - from the short haul Ambleside/Keswick run, the M74 cutting through the hills as I approach Glasgow, the A9 as she winds up towards Inverness through the Cairngorms, the East Coast drives from Aberdeen and St Andrews…
Anyway, the list goes on!
In June I was even more blessed to invite a few of our key team players from Head Office to my backyard in the Lakes to look at our two stores there, meet with the shop sales teams, visit a few of our compatriots/competitors in the other outdoor shops and also squeeze in a walk.
As you can see from the images we were truly blessed with some exceptional weather – though we were glad of those all-important UPF ratings on our outfit choices for the walk. If there is someone looking out for us “up there” then we can be fairly sure that he/she is a fan of the brand as we couldn’t have asked for better weather conditions.
It was a great chance for those responsible for design, production and merchandising – basically those people that fill up our shops with amazing and exciting products – to get away from their desks and onto the hills.
Though we have extended our ranges since our birth in the 1970s to include great travel and adventure products, we will never venture too far from the hills and mountains that helped shape us so long ago, and that still inspire us today.
