The Women’s Aran Jacket provides superior warmth from our fully lined Insuloft synthetic wadded insulation, which has an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio that is tough, lightweight, packable, fast-drying and easy to wash. Proven over many years by Rohan – it’s a great all-rounder.
Rohan has pioneered this manufactured insulation, and by weight, it’s almost as effective as natural down. Unlike natural down, however, it doesn’t lose its warmth the minute it gets wet, so it’s perfect for activewear or the damp, cold conditions that are the hallmarks of the British winter.
With the one-point adjustment thick fixed hood, it is sure to keep your head warm on those cold winter hikes. The jacket is created from tough and durable fabrics and fully waterproof, as it’s come with the Barricade standard.
The jacket includes five-pockets, two lower zipped pockets protected by flaps with poppers and an internal zipped pocket for peace of mind that allows you to keep your valuables safe. In addition, we have added to the two lower hand warmer pockets lined brushed tricot for added comfort and a touch of luxury. Tricot refers to the name of the fabric structure and is soft to the touch, perfect for those cold winter days when out walking the hills.

Durable Water Repellency
Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.

2-Layer Barricade
The Barricade standard gives you reassurance of a high level of waterproof protection. All of our waterproofs must meet our Barricade Standard to be ten times the British standard for waterproofing.
The waterproof fabric of the garment has two layers. The water-repellent outer fabric and the PU hydrophilic membrane are bonded together. In addition, a loose lining protects the membrane from the inside.
